Dad's do so much for us without ever wanting anything in return - except for us to be happy. 

As I was growing up I knew that you always wanted the best for me but I didn't appreciate how hard you worked to make that possible.

Now that I'm older I can see the effort you put into being there for me throught the years.

And I just want you to Know that when it comes to dads I feel like I've always had the best.

My dear love, it's been over two years that you went home to our lord and savor Jesus.  I still feel tht you are with me evry moment of every day.  I remember our first date, we went in your car for a drive and you asked if you could give me a kiss.  You did, and I felt the magic and I thought my whole body would melt away.  I knew then that you were the one for me, you stood by my side during good times and bad times for 45 years.  If I every said something bad to you; I never ment to hurt you and you knew me better than any one and that I loved you and would be your forever.  I love you and I pray that you are in paradise with our lord and savory Jesus.  Happy Memorial Day from you loving wife.  John, Daisy, Johnny, Joe, Becky, Lacie Rose, and Debbie, watch over her and pray for her as we do.

Memorial Day 2009  / John Bruce (Son)

I love you dad, it's been two years since you sailed away and I have missed your every day.  Many positive changes have taken place, mom and I are closer than ever (mom really misses you), Daisy is a great wife and mother, 2009 makes 21 year, Johnny is developing into a great young man, he is doing well in school, wants to go into the medical field and will attend UWF, received bank approval on his own merit for a first time home buyer ( we are looking for a place) and has a girlfriend, her name is Melody and they make a cute couple.  This year Becky and Lacie Rose came to visit mom and we all had a great time, wish Joe could have been here with them, but he was keeping things together in Las Vegas (we miss Joe also).  Debbie called and sounds great, she is feeling better and we pray for her.  I know you are very proud of all of us, you are wish us every day, watching over of, protecting us, and loving us.  Happy Memorial Day to the GREATEST man I know and the BEST father a son could hace; I love you dad.

You are my love there is no date or hour in a day that I do not think about you.  I will never stop loving you, you were a gift from God in my life.  Your were my strenght, my friend, my lover, my everthing to me.  Even though you are not with me fisically, you are always with me in spirit. Your loving wife Amalia.

John, Merlene, and Johnny miss you very much; we think about you all the time and know you are watching over us.  You would be very proud of Johnny with his school work at PJC and his job at Gamestop.  He is very emotional when he talks about you and holds back his tears.  Daisy is doing well after her surgery and and is a great asset to Santa Rosa County.  My new career is the best thing that has ever happened to me.  I am off the road from traveling and home every night with my family.  I still look to you for guidence and I know you are watching over me.  Your loving son, John.

Joe, Becky, and Lacie are also doing great.  Joe and mom call each other all of the time and you would be very happy that mom is happy. 

Debbie also had a major surgery and is slow in her recovery.  Please watch over her and pray for her.

I was born in Yugoslavia many years ago. My mother and I imigrated to the United States for a new life when I still very young. Life was not easy for my mother and I as we struggled to make a life here. All of that changed when Alvin Bruce entered our lives.  He married my Mom and asked me to take his name. He made us into a Family and I am proud to call him my Father.  My mother, my brother John and I loved this man until the day he passed.
  He was the foundation, the strength and the love of our family. I miss you everyday that you are not with us, and on this Father's Day I want to tell you that I LOVE YOU.

A few words about a good man  / Stephen Bryars (Friend)
A fine and decent man. He loved and cared for his family and his friends. He was a brave and trusting man, as witnessed in his last days. He was totally at peace with himself and the life he had lived. He had a most serious side, but also loved to laugh. He cared deeply for others.

The last time I visited Al was in his final few days. I sat down beside him, he looked up at me and before I could muster the words, “How are you, Al?” he asked, “How are you doing, Steve?” What a man! Barely strong enough to speak, yet asking and caring about how I was. I am fortunate to have known Al Bruce and for him to have been my friend. Al, you will be missed and never forgotten.

Uncle Al, though we were only able to meet a limited number of times and we didn’t know you and your family as well as we might have if the times and distances had been more conducive, I feel compelled to make an entry into your memorial log.

Your memorial has allowed us to know you and your family better than we might of even if we had been able to meet more often, and I am pleased to get to know you better.  Your lives and the lives of your brothers and sisters were shaped by the time and events during your young adult years.  These were years of transition, unknown consequences, and the need to be separated over long distances. You’ve all have traveled these years well and have much to be proud of.

Rest in peace and thank you for your service and the parts of your life that you have shared with all of us.  Until we meet again.  Salute to your memory.

It is wonderfu to see so many people pay respects to my dad  / John Bruce (Loving Son )
To me, my dad was truly a great man, he was my best friend.  He was a leader of men during World War II.  He was a true gentlemen with the highest level of Integrity and was loved and respected by all who new him.  He was a devoted and loving husband, the glue that kept us all strong.  He was an excellent teacher during his career but especially with his sons Joe and I, by teaching us to become strong, independent leaders.  My dad was a claim and quite individual who enjoyed his privacy.  There are so many things I could continue to say, but I will do that privately as we talk.  Dad, I love you and will miss you forever; your loving son John.  Close
